It's Opie Cunningham! Ron Howard time travels.

If you’re of a certain age range you grew up with Ron Howard and if not you’ve probably seen Andy Griffith and Happy Days in reruns. I just saw this video a few minutes ago. No, it’s not a political endorsement by me or us. It’s just cool to see Opie and some old friends together again. Check it out and don’t forget that whoever you’re voting for, please vote early if you can, cause it’s going to be a wild ride on the 4th!

To see more of our favorite videos visit our SunSpots videos page. I think Hal Douglas doing the Seinfeld promo is still one of the best on there. In a worrrlllld…..

Have a great day!

  1. Wow, what a blast from the past. Being an avid Andy fan (yes, I’ve even attended Mayberry Days in Andy Griffith’s hometown of Mount Airy, North Carolina) it’s great to see Ron and Andy in those roles again. Wonder what it feels like to them, having played so many other roles in between. Thanks for linking that!

  2. Looks and sounds like Andy was recorded on a soundstage somewhere, probably in North Carolina. I would have really loved to have seen them together walking to the pond with their fishing poles on their shoulders. I thought Henry Winkler looked amazing as his old Fonzi character from Happy Days.

Something I also liked about the video is that it seemed very heartfelt without a lot of political rhetoric or inflammatory comments.

Agree or disagree with his opinion, Ron Howard seems like a genuine, good guy.

You said you’ve been to Mayberry Days. What was that like?

  3. Much fun – Barn, Floyd the barber and Goober impersonators were on hand. There was a parade down main street, music, showings of The Andy Griffith Show in the town theater – real Americana in action. It happens each fall in late September. If you’re a fan of the show – you gotta go!
